  1. 01

    The whole ParentHome

One hub on the nightstand weighs and photographs the pill box, hears the oxygen cart and the rollator over a short radio link, sees a night-time get-up, and sends everything to one family app.

  2. 02Brain

XIAO ESP32S3 Sense (hub camera head)

The brain: it runs the parenthome-hub firmware program

  3. 03

    Pill tray scale + camera

Feels a dose leave the weekly box; the camera says which compartment

7 key parts, one program, and your phone

What it is

A bedside system with one brain that does four jobs for an older parent at home.

What it does

  • Shows which doses were taken and alerts when one is late
  • Shows hours of backup oxygen left and alerts in a power cut
  • Tracks daily walking and gait speed from the rollator
  • Lights the way and logs night get-ups

Who it's for

Families of older parents living alone, and home-care agencies.

How the parts connect

ParentHome, wired up

Every part, what links it to the brain, and how the data reaches your phone. A solid line is a cable; a dashed line is a radio link.

What you see in the app

One screen for each job ParentHome does.

  • DosesDad opens Thursday's box on Wednesday morning. The camera over the pill tray sees the wrong compartment and the hub chimes.

  • Oxygen backupThe power goes out while the concentrator runs. The hub senses it, chimes and tells the family how long the backup cylinder will last.

  • WalkingThe rollator's handle pod counts metres walked and walking speed each day. The family sees the trend over two weeks.

  • Night get-upAt night the bed eye sees legs swing over the edge. The walker's floor lamp comes on, and the hub logs whether the walker moved.

App screens with sample data. The interface is in development.

    Lab updates for ParentHome

    All lab updates
    1. LatestOne product for an older parent's bedside (owner decision, 27 Oct 2026).
      • Its jobs now run in BedsideOne, the smart bedside table: /products/bedsideone/

See it in 3DFull research and design

    2. Families looking after an older parent at a distance often face three worries at once: were the pills taken, how long will the backup oxygen last in a power cut, and is the parent still walking safely, especially on night toilet trips. Today that means a pill dispenser subscription (Hero $29.99-44.99 a month, herohealth.com), a medical alert ($25-29 a month, AARP 2026) and nothing for oxygen or walking; our own three products for it cost $447 and $14 a month with three apps.
      • New product ParentHome: one hub on the nightstand (PillPerch's base, tray and camera head) with one brain does the jobs of PillPerch, OxyCart and PaceRoll, with one Wi-Fi link and one app
      • Reused CAD parts unchanged from the three products, plus a new hub case with a cable port and a new bed eye (case and lid) that moves PaceRoll's bed sensor onto the nightstand side; 17 printed parts, each one solid, every bought part fits
      • 3D view: a parent's bedroom with the bed, the hub on the nightstand with a weekly pill box, the bed eye beside it, the oxygen cart next to a concentrator, and the rollator parked by the bed
      • Dropped: OxyCart's FlowTee box (the hub senses a power cut itself), the bed sensor's own chip, batteries and buzzer, and PaceRoll's Home Node; the cart and rollator now talk to the hub by short-range radio instead of Wi-Fi
      • Product page https://iemilabs.com/products/parenthome/: $329 + $6/month instead of $447 + $14/month; parts about $289 at quantity 1 (est.)

    ParentHome FAQ

    General FAQ
    Which products does ParentHome replace?

It does the job of PillPerch (pill box doses and fill check), OxyCart (oxygen cylinder hours left and the power-cut alert) and PaceRoll (rollator walking, brakes, walker down and NightPath). Those three cost $447 + $14 a month together; ParentHome is $329 + $6 a month.

    Does it control the oxygen?

No. It weighs the backup cylinder and tells you how long it will last. It never sets or switches the oxygen flow; follow the supplier's and doctor's instructions.

    Does it detect falls?

No. It alerts when the rollator lies on its side, and logs a night get-up without the walker. It cannot see a fall away from the walker and is not a personal emergency alarm.

Is there a camera in the bedroom?

Only one, and it looks straight down at the pill tray. Photos stay on the hub, except an optional weekly fill photo. The bed eye measures distance only and has no camera.

    Is ParentHome available now?

No. It is a concept in design. Specifications are targets. We are not taking orders, reservations or deposits, and it has no ship date yet.
