  1. 01

    The whole CourtCam

One Pi 5 with an AI chip in a ceiling head watches the court from above and the hoop from the side: it plays replays on the court TV, counts makes, scores cornhole and cuts coaching reps.

  2. 02Brain

    Raspberry Pi 5 8GB + AI HAT+ (CourtCam head)

The brain: it runs the courtcam-head program

  3. 03

    Court camera (looking down)

Films the whole court from above: replays, cornhole boards, where each shot came from, coaching reps

What it is

A ceiling camera with one brain per gym court that does the replay, shooting, cornhole and coaching jobs.

What it does

  • Plays the last 30 seconds on the court TV at a button press
  • Counts makes and maps shot spots
  • Scores cornhole rounds under ACL rules
  • Cuts coaching reps for each tapped-in player

Who it's for

Rec centres, YMCAs, sportsplexes and school gyms with courts booked by the hour.

What you see in the app

One screen for each job CourtCam does.

  • Instant replayAfter a long pickleball rally on court 2, a player presses REPLAY on the wall key. The last 30 seconds from above play on the court TV.

  • ShootingA member taps a wristband and shoots alone. The hoop camera counts makes and the down camera marks where every shot came from.

  • Cornhole scoringOn league night two boards go down on the court. The down camera scores every round and shows it on the TV with a replay.

  • Coaching repsA coach and player tap in for a shooting lesson. Every rep is cut from both cameras and lands on the coach's tablet, with nobody filming.

App screens with sample data. The interface is in development.

    CourtCam FAQ

    General FAQ
    Which products does CourtCam replace?

It does the job of CourtCall (replay on the court TV), SmartHoop (make/miss and shot charts), CornholeCam (cornhole scoring) and CoachVision (hands-free coaching reps). Bought separately for one court those are $8,575 + $257 a month; CourtCam is $1,790 + $69 a month.

Does it make line calls or official decisions?

No. It shows replays, counts and scores with the clip behind them so players can check. It is not a line-calling system.

How high does the ceiling need to be?

About 6 to 9 m. From 7.6 m one head sees about 19 x 10 m (est.): one pickleball court or two cornhole lanes. A full basketball court needs two heads.

    What about video of children?

There is no face recognition. Recording only runs while a court is booked, clips stay on the head for 7 days and leave only when a checked-in player or coach asks.

    Is CourtCam available now?

No. It is a concept in design. Specifications are targets. We are not taking orders, reservations or deposits, and it has no ship date yet.
