CourtCall Club
Replay and challenge courts that pickleball and padel clubs sell per court-hour
Two fixed cameras and a fence button per court give players an instant replay on the court screen and a clip on their phone; the Line option shows the bounce frame from 120 fps cameras looking along the line.
- Who buys it
- Owner or general manager of an indoor pickleball or padel club with 4 to 16 courts.
- Why it pays
- Clubs sell replay passes per booking: 25% of 60 weekly bookings at $4 is about $258 a month per court against a $39 fee (est.). Hardware is $690 per 4-court hub plus $390 per court, against about $3,200 per court per year for PlayReplay.
- Target price
- $690 hub + $390/court + $39/court/month; Line option +$590/court + $20/month (target)
- First-minute wow
- Press the orange button after a great rally and both camera angles replay on the court TV within 3 seconds.

What the research found
And how this design answers it
- Phone apps (SwingVision $179.99/yr) sell to players → sold to the club as a fixed installation with zero player setup
- Officiating-grade accuracy needs Hawk-Eye-class systems → no official calls; the Line option shows the bounce frame and says 'too close to show' when it cannot tell
- Clubs have little budget → shared Edge Hub, bought $110 PoE cameras and strap-on mounts keep capex near $400 per court
- Incumbents sell through RFPs and quotes → self-installed kit, month-to-month, aimed at independent 4-16 court clubs
- Video of juniors → clips stay on site for 7 days and leave only when a player requests one by QR
Use case
Replay pass at league night
PlayersClub front deskCourtCall hub
- 01Trigger: the booking includes the $4 replay add-on, so the court is armed
- 02Detection: a player presses the fence button after a long rally
- 03Replay: the hub stream-copies the last 30 s from both cameras and the court TV plays it in under 3 s
- 04Action: players scan the court QR and get the clip link by SMS
Outcome: About $258 a month of new replay revenue per court at a 25% attach rate (est.)
How it works
Architecture
- 01
Sense: 2 Reolink 4K PoE cameras per court; optional 2 Arducam 120 fps global-shutter line cameras on the net post
- 02
Decide: Edge Hub (Pi 5 + Hailo-8) keeps a 60 s stream-copy ring and detects play; the Line node finds the bounce frame
- 03
Send: local MQTT and WebSocket to the court screen; events only to the cloud, clips only on request
- 04
Tell: court TV replay, QR clip page, club desk view and a weekly utilisation report

Open risks we are working on
- Line IN/OUT accuracy on a 74 mm plastic ball is unproven; fallback is 120 fps line replay with no verdict
- Player willingness to pay for replays is unmeasured
- League rules on net-post attachments and booking-system API access are unconfirmed
- PlaySight or PlayReplay could launch a cheaper club tier
