The whole VapeSense AI
A ceiling disc measures room air, classifies each event as vape, smoke or steam and reports it by radio, with no camera or microphone.
02Brain
ESP32-C6-MINI-1
The brain: it runs the vapesense firmware program
03
SEN66 air module
Measures fine particles, VOC, NOx, CO₂, humidity once a second
ESP32-C6-MINI-1 · I²C (6-pin cable) · 1 Hz air readings
04
BME690 gas sensor
Scans gas resistance to tell sprays from smoke
ESP32-C6-MINI-1 · I²C (shared bus) · Gas resistance profile

05

All connected
6 key parts, one program, and your phone
What it is
A white ceiling disc that senses vape aerosol and air quality, with no camera or audio.
What it does
Who it's for
School districts, universities, hotels and public buildings with privacy areas.
How the parts connect
Every part, what links it to the brain, and how the data reaches your phone. A solid line is a cable; a dashed line is a radio link.
The program
for (;;) {
sen66_read(&air); // I2C 400 kHz, 1 Hz
features_push(&win, &air, &gas); // baseline-subtracted
if (ev.state == QUIET && air.pm1 > baseline.pm1 + 25)
event_start(&ev); // QUIET -> EVENT
if (ev.state == EVENT) {
event_record(&ev, &air);
if (decayed_to(&ev, 0.20f) || ev.secs > 900) {
ev.cls = gbt_predict(event_features(&ev), &ev.conf); // <= 200 trees
uplink_event(&ev); // LoRa or MQTT
ev.state = QUIET;

Manager's browser and phone; resident link
One screen for each job VapeSense AI does.
Vape eventLate at night someone vapes in non-smoking unit 304. The ceiling disc logs it with its air curve, and the manager sees it next morning.
TamperSomeone covers the disc in unit 211 with a bag. The disc notices its air stops changing and tells the manager.
Building checkThe manager checks every disc in the building once a day. Residents see the same records through their own link.
App screens with sample data. The interface is in development.
| Event class | Vape, 86% sure | Each event |
|---|---|---|
| Evidence card | Unit 304, 10 min curve | Each event |
| Tamper alert | Sensor covered | On tamper |
| Power lost | Disc unplugged | On power loss |
| Disc health | Online, fan OK | Every 6 h |
No camera, no microphone and no presence reports. Residents see everything the manager sees.

From the product lab · ideation phase
No. VapeSense has no camera and does not record audio. It uses particle, gas and climate sensors only, and all classification runs on the device. This makes it suitable for washrooms and locker rooms.
THC detection is a target capability. We are training the classifier on controlled aerosol samples and will validate it in 2027 pilots before we make accuracy claims.
Mount the disc on the ceiling and connect one PoE cable, or power it from 12 V and connect over Wi-Fi. Most installs take under 30 minutes per sensor.
PoE Ethernet or Wi-Fi, plus an internet connection for app alerts. Alerts can also be sent to on-site systems through MQTT or webhooks.
No. VapeSense AI is a new concept in development. Specifications are target specifications. It is a concept: we are not taking orders, reservations or deposits, and it has no ship date yet.
We are planning a 2-year limited hardware warranty, extendable on multi-year licences. Final terms will be published before shipping begins.
