What it is

A kitchen system with one brain that does four jobs for a parent cooking on LPG.

What it does

  • Alerts when a burner is left on in an empty kitchen
  • Counts pressure-cooker whistles
  • Shows gas left and the refill booking date
  • Tells the family when the kitchen alarm sounds

Who it's for

Families of older parents, and senior homes with gas kitchens.

Family phones (Android and iPhone)

  3. Family phones

What you see in the app

One screen for each job KitchenGuard does.

  • Burner left onA parent puts dal on to simmer and goes to rest. The hood bar sees a hot burner and nobody there, so the pod beeps, then family are called.

  • Whistle countRice is in the pressure cooker with a target of 3 whistles. The bar counts each one, beeps at 3, and flags the burner if it stays on.

  • Alarm heardThe kitchen's own gas-leak alarm goes off while the family is out. The pod hears its pattern and pushes an alert to every phone.

  • Gas leftThe deck under the LPG cylinder weighs what is left, so the family books a refill on time instead of running out mid-meal.

App screens with sample data. The interface is in development.

    Lab updates for KitchenGuard

    All lab updates
    1. LatestOne product for the home kitchen (owner decision, 27 Oct 2026).
      • Its jobs now run in KitchenOne, the smart range hood: /products/kitchenone/

See it in 3DFull research and design

    2. Families of a parent who cooks alone on LPG in India are told to fit a gas-leak detector, a smoke alarm, stove-left-on alerts and smart plugs (Samarth Community elder-care guides), and they still guess the gas left and count cooker whistles by ear. Each gadget beeps in the kitchen and tells nobody away from home.
      • New product KitchenGuard: one ESP32-S3 brain, one Wi-Fi radio, one backup battery and one app do the jobs of StoveSentry, CookerCount, GasLock and AlarmEcho
      • One microphone now counts cooker whistles and hears the kitchen alarm; whistles count only while the heat camera sees a hot burner
      • New CAD parts: a hood sensor bar (housing and cover with thermal, radar, microphone and an 8-light whistle bar, no chip or battery above the stove), a kitchen pod built from GasLock's pod with a big orange I'm-here button, and GasLock's cylinder deck parts reused unchanged; every bought part fits and each part is one solid
      • 3D view: an Indian kitchen with the bar under the chimney hood, the pod beside the stove and the cylinder on its weighing deck
      • Dropped: CookerCount's own chip and battery, AlarmEcho's separate disc and LTE box, StoveSentry's fume sensor and wall control, GasLock's separate chip
      • Product page: $179 + $3/month, against $226 + $6/month for the four products bought separately; parts about $119 plus a $20 fan plug (est.)

    KitchenGuard FAQ

    General FAQ
    Which products does KitchenGuard replace?

It does the job of StoveSentry (burner left on, hood fan), CookerCount (whistle counter), GasLock (gas left and booking date) and AlarmEcho (hears an alarm and tells the family). Those four cost $226 + $6 a month together; KitchenGuard is $179 + $3 a month.

Does it shut off the gas or detect leaks?

No. It alerts only. It hears the kitchen's existing gas-leak or smoke alarm and tells the family, and it alerts when a burner is left on. Keep a certified gas-leak detector and smoke alarm.

Does it have a camera or record sound?

It has a low-resolution thermal sensor (32 x 24 heat dots, no faces) and a microphone. Heat frames and sound are processed on the pod and never stored or sent; only events like "3 whistles" leave the home.

    Is the gas weight exact?

It is indicative, good for days left and booking, not a legal measurement. If a new cylinder looks short, ask the delivery person to weigh it on their verified scale.

    Is KitchenGuard available now?

No. It is a concept in design. Specifications are targets. We are not taking orders, reservations or deposits, and it has no ship date yet.
