DockOne
IEMI's one product for a warehouse dock door: the door's own track guards, made smart
The two steel track guards already bolted beside a dock door, at the same size, place and floor bolts, see the trailer and the dock floor from cameras and a radar inside their top bays: they log trailers and dwell, turn the door red at an open edge and sound when someone comes close, warn at once when a trailer creeps or pulls away, count and photograph every pallet, slow forklifts at the door, remind about hi-vis, call a door left open and log guard strikes.
- Who buys it
- Operations and safety managers of warehouses, distribution centres and 3PLs with 10 to 60 dock doors; then grocery and parcel networks at dock refits.
- Why it pays
- $1,290 + $49/door/month instead of about $2,374 + $278/door/month for a share of LoadingDock AI, PPE Gate, a dock light kit and two plain guards bought separately (est.).
- Target price
- $1,290 per door (replaces the door's two track guards) + $49/door/month dock app (target)
- First-minute wow
- 07:31 at door 12: the trailer creeps 70 mm with a forklift inside. Both guards flash red and the horn sounds before the gap grows. By 08:05 the dock lead has the signed clip and a 26/26 pallet count with a still of every pallet.

What the research found
And how this design answers it
- Rev A (28 Oct 2026): the logistics flagship is the dock door's own pair of track guards. Inside guard A: a Raspberry Pi 5 brain, a door camera and a dock camera (Camera Module 3 Wide), call lights, tone, strike sensor, ATECC608, tamper switch and a potted IRM-20-5; inside guard B: a XIAO ESP32-S3 Sense door camera, an HLK-LD2450 radar, an SHT45, call lights, tone, strike sensor, ATECC608 and tamper switch
- Makes the door's calls itself: trailer and dwell, open edge, creep or pull-away, pallet count, fast forklift or person in the lane, door left open and guard strikes alone; pallet damage and hi-vis go to a person; unsure means 'check'
- Legal at the door: the 2,743 mm opening kept clear (OSHA 1910.176(a)), same 48 in guard in safety yellow (1910.144), trailers still held by the dock's own chocks or restraint (1910.178(k)(1))
- Privacy first: no face recognition; pallet stills and call clips only, kept 30 days; staff notice labels
- Market and rules check (30 Oct 2026): OSHA renewed its warehouse emphasis programme to 2031 with loading docks and forklift-pedestrian interactions in focus, so the guards now give a signed monthly dock safety record per door; signed door times also give a door-time export for detention disputes; no new part
- Folds LoadingDock AI and DoorPost; the yard, the forklift cab, goods in transit and site entrances stay with their own zones
- Stage 2 (29 Oct 2026): buyer check (Rite-Hite Rite-Vu, Roboflow dock AI on existing cameras, IDEALVu, Zimark pallet tracking; all quote-only), brain moved to the same-size Raspberry Pi 5 2 GB (the 4 GB is now $130), prices checked ($796 per door at qty 1), margin table, freezer-dock power with the heater pad, top-three FAQs, 3 phase 3 questions
Use case
A 40-door distribution centre on two shifts
Operations managerSafety managerDock leadForklift drivers
- 01Trigger: a trailer backs in, a forklift loads it, a pallet crosses the door, someone walks to an open edge
- 02Detect: two door cameras in stereo, a dock camera, a radar, a strike sensor and an air sensor inside the guards
- 03Act: green, amber or red on both guards with a horn; counts and stills to the order
- 04Log: one signed event list per door and a weekly dock report
Outcome: Open edges and creeping trailers get a warning at the door, and every load has a signed count with a still of each pallet
How it works
Architecture
- 01
Sense: two door cameras, a dock camera, a radar, strike and air sensors inside the two guards
- 02
Decide: the Raspberry Pi 5 in guard A runs the trailer, creep, pallet and lane models; 'check' below the line
- 03
Act: call lights and a horn tone in both guards
- 04
Tell: one signed event list to the dock app and the WMS
Hardware
Real parts, buyable today
Bill of materials: about $796 per door at qty 1 (stage 2, 29 Oct 2026: shop prices checked, est. for the steel); replaces the door's two track guards.

Open risks we are working on
- Creep detection in stereo across a 2.7 m door needs a timing test with real trailers (est. 50 mm in under 0.5 s)
- Strong sun into the open door and night glare from yard lights can blind the door cameras; exposure tests at a south-facing dock
- A forklift strike above 2,250 J may bend the guard as it would a plain one; the bay sits high, but the windows need a swing test
- Freezer docks need the heater pad and condensation tests (est.)
- DockOne does not hold the trailer or close the edge; the dock's own chocks, restraint and leveler stay, and it makes no safety claim
- Electrical listing and radio tests are still to be done
