Overview
SmartHoop integrates three 4K cameras, rim load and vibration sensors and an edge AI processor inside a standard backboard and rim. It detects shots, makes, misses and player positions automatically, scores games, and streams stats and replays to coaches and players.
The problem
Shot tracking for basketball relies on manual charting, wearables or expensive fixed-camera systems. Coaches at high schools, colleges and training gyms lose hours tagging video, players lack objective feedback on shooting form, and recreational venues cannot offer automated scoring or highlights.
Track makes, misses, shot location and arc for every rep without wearables or manual charting.
Score pickup games and leagues automatically and push the score to a display or app.
Generate shot charts and player-tagged highlights for practice and game review.
Offer paid shooting challenges, leaderboards and highlight clips at gyms and family entertainment centres.
Stream live rim-cam angles with instant replays for school broadcasts.
Top, side and under-rim cameras capture the court and the rim at up to 4K, synchronised in hardware.
On-device models detect the ball, players and shooter pose; rim sensors capture load and vibration.
Each attempt is classified — make, miss, rim-out, dunk, block — and attributed to a player in under 150 ms.
Scores and an instant replay are sent to the scorer tablet, display or app over 5G Wi-Fi 6E.
Shot charts, streaks and form metrics sync to the IEMI dashboard for players and coaches.
In the app
The IEMI hoop app shows live scores, shot charts and replays; players get personal stats and highlights on their phones.
